Aspire: A Skyscraper Story (6 Minutes)

This short documentary covers the history of the Renaissance Tower in Dallas. To help this office building come alive, I made a scale model of it and several other notable buildings in Dallas. This decision gave the video a unique style that helped to add character and personality to a story that could have been relatively dull. This video also demonstrates my writing and research talent as I combed through several local sources to formulate this story while engagingly framing the information. I am most proud of this project because it got me into my first film festival, the USA Film Festival and the Oak Cliff Film Festival

I was director, scriptwriter, editor, narrator, cinematographer, and producer.

Baby Bereavement Blankets (6 Minutes)

For this project, I worked closely with a charitable initiative in Fort Worth to create a documentary highlighting their work that they could use to promote their work. The initiative is called Baby Bereavement Blankets, and it is based out of the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office. I assembled a crew to create the project while continuously communicating with the initiative organizer to make sure the project would best serve her program.

I was director and assistant editor.

Citizen Historians (3 Minutes)

This short documentary began as an assignment in a film ethics class where I had to create a video that could motivate political action in its viewers. I decided to make it about a relatively new organization called Citizen Historians. I gave myself the challenge to use only archival footage that I was free to use and had absolutely no copyright infringement with the idea of making a project that the organization or I could publicly use. When I completed the project, I reached out to Citizen Historians, and they liked my video so much that they actually asked to include it in one of their newsletters. I agreed.

I was director, scriptor, researcher, narrator, and editor.

Interview with a Medical Examiner (3 Minutes)

In this short documentary, I interview my Dad and ask him why he chose to pursue a career in forensic pathology (a sort of job where every patient is a tragedy). I had to keep the project short for my class, but in its three-minute runtime, I think I captured an interesting slice of his life and career. This video demonstrates my ability to interview and film a subject while also finding ways to augment their story.

I was director, scriptwriter, editor, narrator, cinematographer, and producer.
